The ToonSeum, Pittsburgh Museum of Cartoon Art, is one of only three museums in the United State dedicated exclusively to the cartoon arts.

The ToonSeum features exhibitions or original comic and cartoon art, with new exhibits every two months.

Our giftshop carries unique comics and books related to the cartoon arts.

Free Comics, art opening, and Nina Paley too!

May is an exciting month for the ToonSeum and fans of cartoons everywhere. Before the press releases, before our newsletter, readers of our blog are getting a sneak peek at whats in store over the next two weeks!
Lets start off with this weekend May 2nd. It's free comic book day! Visit your local comics retailers for your free comic. In Pittsburgh visit, Phantom of the Attic, Copacetic Comics and New Dimension.
On May 7th, The ToonSeum and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh open Animation B.C. (Before Computers) Featuring original animation art and artifacts going back the early 1900's including an original Gertie the Dinosaur production sketch!
On May 9th the ToonSeum will present cartoonist/animator Nina Paley at The Silkscreen film festival as they screen her award-winning film "Sita Sings the Blues". We will also be presenting a private afternoon reception with Nina that day.
