The ToonSeum, a small museum in Pittsburgh dedicated to the cartoon arts, is now the latest museum to join the Iphone App phenomenon. It is also the first of Pittsburgh's many museums to create it's own App.
The App features information on the ToonSeum including hours, location, exhibits, events and admission. It also features content pulled from the ToonSeum's blog and Youtube page. Plans for the inclusion of a video docent tours via the app are also in production.
"New technologies such as the Iphone help museums go beyond their walls and bring the experience directly into the hands of the patrons." Said ToonSeum Executive Director, Joe Wos.
"As a small museum we are excited by the opportunity to expand the potential visitors experience by providing additional content online, on phones, and more."
During the month of February guest who download the App to their Iphone will receive free admission to the ToonSeum.
The ToonSeum is located in downtown Pittsburgh's Cultural District at 945 Liberty Avenue.
